Here is a video describing the process of removing a top from a guitar I built and replacing it (and the braces) with torrefied wood. This spruce has been heated in an oxygen-free oven and it changes the properties of the wood. This torrefaction process is said to make the wood have the same properties as wood that has aged for 100 years or so. It also makes it have a darker, golden color
