In The Gravel Yard- Pokeberry Bluegrass Band

Many times you don’t realize how fortunate you are to hear some of these musicians. I think these guys were just jamming in the back room one night when we asked them to put together a stage show. These guys are all great musicians and singers. I realized after digging this video out that one of these fellows has died since this was made. Ray Ritchie was an excellent guitar player and a nice guy to go along with it. He picks a lead break on this video and sings the baritone harmony part. Greg Brooks plays fiddle. J.P.James is in the background supplying his excellent bass playing. Martin Adams sings tenor on this song. Jimmy Redden plays banjo. The young mandolin player’s name escapes me. I know that he was a student at Southern College and he was a world class singer and mandolin player. I hope someone will post his name so I can add it to the comments. He is too good a talent to not be recognized.
